Course Description: 
In this course, students explore the theme of Society and the Individual by reading stories, poems, and essays that examine how people interact with the communities around them. Learners will analyze point of view and author’s craft, make inferences, identify figurative language, and distinguish between topics and themes. They will also use textual evidence to support ideas in an argumentative essay while strengthening vocabulary and grammar skills to improve writing and communication. This is the second course in a two-part Seventh-Grade English series. This course also encompasses Common Core State Standards (CCSS).
